2013 Forecast (con’t): With Dusk Upon Us, Will The Church Turn Up The Light?

“Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light” (Romans 13:11-13).
Last week we discussed the 2013 Forecast, that “dusk” is coming over America in terms of the ungodly events and policies that are increasingly taking place in our nation such as fiscal irresponsibility, immorality, and a general casting off of our traditional Christian worldview in favor of secularism.
What we didn’t have enough time to discuss is how the evangelical church in America will respond to respond to a darkening nation. Will the church shine the light of Christ and His Word even brighter creating a stark contrast with the direction of society? Or will the church try to soften its stances so as to not appear to be out of touch with our changing culture?
