“… but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:23-24).
Christians can be involved in many “Christian” things such as attending church, hosting Bible studies, going on mission trips, and helping the disadvantaged and yet lose sight of the most important thing: to exalt Jesus Christ as the center of it all.
Keeping Christ pre-eminent in who we are and what we do is the point of the Christian life. You would think He would be the ultimate object of every sermon for all of Scripture points directly toward the person and work of Jesus Christ. And yet how many sermons have you heard that offer lots of good practical principles for living or inspiring stories but not much emphasis on the One who is our very reason for being?
Dr. Steven Lawson, keynote preacher along with Dr. Albert Mohler at the Expositors’ Conference on September 26-27, 2011 at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church in Mobile, AL, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to talk about the theme of the conference, “The Pre-Eminence of Christ in Preaching”, and how we can make that the case in our own lives as well.

The Preeminence of Christ in Preaching
Sept. 25-27 Mobile, AL
The Christian Worldview is giving away five FREE registration tickets to the Expositors’ Conference featuring Dr. Albert Mohler and Dr. Steven Lawson September 25-27, 2011 in Mobile, AL.
Theme: The central theme in expository preaching must always be the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the supreme subject of all Scripture, the very object of our faith. No pulpit can rise any higher than its clarion presentation of the preeminence of Christ. He must be the Alpha and Omega of every sermon, the sum and substance of every message. As the apostle Paul boldly asserted: “we preach Christ and Him crucified.” In this conference, Drs. R. Albert Mohler and Steven J. Lawson will draw our focus to biblical preaching that is Christ-centered and Christ-exalting.
We will announce the five winners on Saturday, August 20st on the radio program and this website. We will also email the winners directly. Each winner will receive FREE registration for themselves and their spouse to attend the conference ($150 value). Please note that a spouse’s free admission may not be transferred to another attendee.
To submit your name for the raffle:
Email your first and last name, mailing address, and phone number to Support@TheChristianWorldview.org

Theme: The highest aim in expository preaching is soli deo gloria—the glory of God alone. No pulpit can rise higher than its lofty view of God. As the proclamation of God goes, so goes the pulpit—and as the pulpit goes, so goes the church. Everything in ministry hinges on a towering view of God.
We will announce the five winners on Saturday, August 21st on the radio program and this website. We will also email the winners directly. Each winner will receive FREE registration for themselves and their spouse to the conference ($150 value).

Satan and the Invisible War

Guest: Dr. Steven Lawson, Senior Pastor, Christ Fellowship Baptist Church
“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Then Satan answered the LORD, “Does Job fear God for nothing?” (Job 1:6-9)
The first two chapters of the book of Job give us a lot to ponder. How does Satan, a fallen angel, have access to the presence of God? What is the nature of this heavenly conflict between God and Satan? How much power does Satan have over the world and individual lives? What should a Christian do when under attack by Satan or his emissaries?
Dr. Steven Lawson, senior pastor of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church and host of the Expositors’ Conference featuring Dr. R.C. Sproul September 27-28 in Mobile, Alabama, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to shed light on “Satan and the Invisible War.” You won’t want to miss a minute of this interview as Pastor Lawson will equip you with biblical truth to understand and overcome “the accuser of the brethren.”
